About the Wintersday Art Contest 2011
We have received questions from the community whether we will be hosting a Wintersday Art Contest as in years past. Unfortunately, the studio and the community team have a number of big projects already underway in preparation for next year so regretfully we are unable to host the contest this year.
As many of you know, some artistic fans begin their work very early and organize the Guild Wars Guru Wintersday Workshop. This year, to encourage everyone to participate, we'll donate cool prizes and Everlasting Reindeer Tonics to the Wintersday Workshop. So if you feel creative or want to try your chance at this fun community activity, head over to the Guild Wars Guru Wintersday Workshop.

Wow, thanks a whole bunch to everyone at arenanet! As a participant in a the past 4 or 5 workshops its awesome to see it getting some official participation now!
Pumped for the AWESOME prize donations, though it is unfortunate that there will be no official contest.
Anyone who isn't currently participating in the workshop but would like to; you can still join and participate! All we ask is that you show us progress so that we can help give you critiques and improve your works! (afterall, that is what the workshops have been all about )
Edit: don't want to forget this!
Is there going to be a notice on the official website that there will be no official contest, and to instead direct people to the workshop? Or will it remain just here on guru?

A shame, but promising for the game.
Nice that the tonics are being donated . The Nolani crowd get to decide who they want to win.

Which is something entirely different to the contests hosted by ArenaNet.

@ BenjZee: You can enter Just join the Wintersday Workshop!
The Workshop has been running every Halloween and Wintersday for several years now, and it has always brought many artists together.
There is no better place to get constructive criticism in regards to your Guild Wars inspired art, be it digital, traditional, sculpture, cosplay, anything you can think of.
We look forward to having many people join and show their amazing art!
